With the growing concerns surrounding COVID-19 (“coronavirus”), we can certainly appreciate the hesitation many people may be feeling in regard to planning their summer vacations. It can be a daunting experience even thinking about your family holidays when reading the headlines everywhere.
The health, safety and well-being of our guests and associates is a top priority. We also know that COVID-19 is a fluid situation where it is impossible to predict how circumstances will develop over the coming weeks and months.
With new condominium bylaws and COVID cases on the rise, some cottage owners may opt to remove their cottage from the available rentals. While we hope this will not be the case, we will work with you to find another cottage under our standard policies should the original cottage booked be unavailable for your stay with us. If no suitable cottage is available, we regrettably reserve the right to cancel your reservation and you will receive a full refund of any funds on deposit.

Welcome to this unique resort, located in Prince Edward County. You can’t help but fall in love with this wonderful location where there is something for everyone!
This cottage resort is made up entirely of privately owned cottages; we kindly ask that you respect the privacy and relaxation of each cottage area and refrain from passing through other properties or creating excessive disruption when in the vicinity of other cottages, including moving or using furniture or equipment from other cottages.
The Registered Guest understands these properties are individually owned, and equipped according to the tastes and preferences of the owner. Each cottage will differ in design, décor, and furniture. No guarantees can be made to the guest about expectations of quality of furnishings. Agent will make every reasonable effort to have any malfunctioning appliances (air conditioners, dishwashers, televisions, etc.) repaired during the stay, but no refunds for inoperative appliances, or quality of furnishings will be offered or expected.

Activities and Entertainment – all activities are subject to availability and are now dependant on COVID restrictions. If offered, they may have limitations or additional safety restrictions in place.

SANDBANKS PROVINCIAL PARK:
Sandbanks Provincial Park Pass: One pass per cottage, available to be signed out and returned each day of your stay except check-out day. Please note: Even with the pass, the availability and access to the provincial park is managed by the province and on busy days they may turn away guests. We recommend checking the Sandbanks Provincial Park website for full details on current practices. Please visit our page for more info about the Provincial Park.
As these properties are individually owned, and equipped according to the tastes and preferences of the owner. Each cottage will differ in design, décor, and furniture. They do however have a few key items for your stay with us.
All cottages come fully equipped including air conditioning, essential kitchen items (cookware, dinnerware, silverware, glassware, basket-style coffee maker, toaster, etc.), full-sized fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, clothes washer & dryer*, private propane BBQ, WiFi, 2 TV’s with basic Cable and a DVD player.
Propane for the barbeque is included. Please see instructions in your cottage information book when the tank is fully emptied and to receive a replacement.
* Please bring your own laundry detergent.
All cottages are pre-stocked with sheets and towels as well as 2 Welcome Amenity Packages as follows:
A KITCHEN AMENITY PACKAGE: 1 roll of paper towels, 3 dishwasher tabs, 2 large garbage bags, 3 small garbage bags, 2 dishcloths and 2 dishtowels.
A BATHROOM AMENITY PACKAGE: 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel, 1 face cloth and 1 pool towel (per person indicated on the reservation), 1 shampoo, 1 body soap and 1 face soap (per person indicated on the reservation), 2 rolls of toilet paper
Need a little extra? Additional Housekeeping and Laundry services may be available upon request, fees applicable. Some additional items can be purchased from the front desk – sorry exact cash only.
We accept MasterCard, Visa, and American Express credit cards. Payments must be made with guaranteed funds (credit card.) If the date of your arrival in more than 31 days away, a deposit equivalent to 50% of your total reservation cost is required before your reservation can be fully confirmed. If the date of your arrival in less than 30 days away, a deposit equivalent to 100% of your total reservation cost is required before your reservation can be fully confirmed.
At this time, with the rise in COVID cases, we are only processing 10% of the total rental income to secure your booking(s).
As each cottage is individually owned, any cancellation affects us and the owners significantly. Consequently, we do adhere to this strict cancellation policy.
31 days or more – a full refund of the initial deposit, less $100 cancellation fee.
30 days or less – the full amount of reservation is non-refundable
All online reservations will be confirmed by email within 48 hours and are not considered finalized until then. Rates and cottages displayed may be subject to change until finalized. Prices quoted online are based on a four person occupancy and are subject to change with occupancy above 4 people. Maximum occupancy for majority of our cottages is 6 people (all ages.) Any applicable additional fees (such as extra person fee’s or pet fee’s) will be applied as required by our Guest Service Representative upon review of rental details, and are not automatically applied by the website at the time of booking.
RESORT QUIET HOURS:
Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Friday through Saturday from 11:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Guests creating excessive disturbances or noise or behaving in any way that may adversely affect the quality and/or enjoyment of other guests and/or owners on the resort may be asked to leave prematurely, without reimbursement of accommodation costs, if not immediately resolved without recurrence.
A $500 penalty fee will be charged to your credit card if evidence of smoking is found inside the property; including and not limited to inside the cottage, on the porch, patio area, or shared public space. Please bring your own receptacle for any ashes or butts, and we request that you do not put any ashes/butts in the fire-pits or on any of the grounds of the resort.
Cottages with private parking can accommodate up to 2 vehicles. Cottages with group parking have a space for 1 vehicle however, additional vehicles can park in our overflow parking area at the front of the resort. Absolutely no driving or parking permitted on walking paths, grassy areas – fines are applicable. ALL vehicles must be registered with the front desk or vehicles could be ticketed and/or towed. Parking is not permitted outside of designated parking spots.
No parking or maneuvering room for boats, trailers, RV’s, or similar toys/recreational vehicles past the gate. Motorized watercraft(s) are not permitted to be secured down at the private beach or to the docks.
LINENS AND HOUSEKEEPING:
All cottages are pre-stocked with sheets and towels, as well as a welcome amenity package. Extra housekeeping and laundry services are available upon request, fees applicable.
If your cottage is equipped with a loft, please note that this space is an architectural feature designated as a storage area and should not be used during your stay.
Guests are strictly prohibited from pitching any type of tent/gazebo and/or inflatables as well as from bringing any illegal drugs, guns, fireworks, kegs, BBQ grills, electric grills, or kerosene or propane heaters onto the premises of the resort or the rental cottage. Regrettably, burn-style bug deterrents are also not permitted.
Guests will be responsible for any damages caused directly or indirectly by themselves or their visitors during their stay. Your credit card will be charged accordingly for any damaged or missing items. All of Sandbanks Summer Village Rental properties require a valid Credit Card (Visa, Master Card or AMEX) to be held as insurance which gives the property owner the ability to recover any expenses incurred from obvious neglect or from additional cleaning due to the cottage being left in an abnormally dirty condition. The property is inspected before Guest’s arrival and after Guest’s departure, and the card will only be charged if problems are noted. Should property damage occur during a guest’s stay, it must be reported immediately in writing, to Sandbanks Summer Vacation Rentals.
We provide accommodations for anyone 21 years and older. If younger, you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Check-In time is at 4:00 P.M.; registration completion and keys are to be picked up at the Visitor Center, which is located on the right as you enter the resort. If you are arriving outside of the office hours please call (613) 476-5286 and let us know 24 hours in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements for you to gain access to the cottage to start your vacation.
Check-Out time is at 10:00 A.M., to ensure proper cleaning for the next occupant. There are no refunds for early departure. We kindly request that the cottage is left in a reasonably clean condition and any trash is removed upon departure, as additional fees do apply if the cottage has been left in an abnormally dirty condition.
Upon check-out, any non-returned resort property, items, or equipment such as parking permits, keys, etc., are subject to replacement fees.
We understand that pets are an important part of family life, and we have limited cottages available that can accommodate your additional family member. A $500 penalty fee will be charged to your credit card if evidence of pets are found inside any non-pet-friendly accommodations.
At this time, the following dog breeds are not permitted on the resort: Akita, Alaskan Malamute, Chow, Doberman Pinscher, German Shepherd, Husky, Pit Bull, Presna, Canario, Rottweiler, Wolf Hybrid.
- Pets are not permitted on resort without a copy of up-to-date vaccination records filed and registered at our front desk. We recommend that you email a copy to us prior to your arrival.
- Pets must be preregistered (maximum of 2) to ensure that a pet-friendly cottage is available.
- Your dog must be on a leash at all times while outdoors on the resort. Please use the walking trails to walk your dog or the designated dog park and refrain as much as possible from using the open areas where cottages and common area parks are located.
- Pets are not be tied or chained outside during your stay and installation of any kind of cable or pulley runs are not permitted.
- Excessive barking will not be tolerated.
- You are of course obligated to follow a strict “Poop and Scoop” policy meaning pets must be cleaned after immediately. There is a $100 fine if this policy is not followed.
- Pets are absolutely not permitted in any common buildings such as the pavilion, pools, etc.
- Please keep your cottage as clean as possible. Although an additional cleaning fee has been added to your cottage, there may be further charges if your cottage is found to require extra cleaning and/or if any damages to the cottage are found.
- Dogs that are aggressive are not permitted on the resort.
Onsite Dog Park Policies:
- Dogs must be on a leash when walking to, entering, and exiting the park.
- Dog owners must be present with their dogs inside the park.
- Dogs must be removed from the dog park at the first sign of aggression.
- The “Poop and Scoop” policy applies within this area as well.
VERY IMPORTANT: Should the front office receive any viable complaints regarding your pet by other guests or cottage owners, authorization for your pet to remain on the resort may be revoked and alternative arrangements would need to be made.
Registered Service animals are welcome and permitted on the resort. However, we do ask out of respect for the individual owners that have allergies to animals, that you please notify us in advance and stay in one of the pet-friendly accommodations. Service animals must be identified with proper card/vest as applicable when accessing public areas pets are not usually permitted. In addition, we do ask that you follow the conditional agreement for pets.
In order to ensure a happy, safe and enjoyable holiday experience, please advise us in advance if there are any allergies/health concerns.
Cottages have a maximum occupancy of 6 people (all ages – including children and infants).
Sandbanks Summer Village cottages are designed to comfortably sleep 4 people. While most cottages are furnished with a sofa bed which allows for a maximum occupancy of 6 people, any occupancy above 4 should be limited to single or nuclear families, defined as a couple and their dependent children. Therefore, and in order to ensure comfortable levels of guests and residents as well as maintain a relaxing environment for all, Sandbanks Summer Village reserves the right to decline reservations of 5 or more occupants which do not comply with this policy.
Rates include up to 4 occupants. An Extra Person fee is applicable for occupancy over 4 people, up to a maximum of 6 people.
Children 9 years of age and under are exempt from Extra Person fees.
BOOKING FOR 2022:
Due to our unique setup, we are unable to accept reservations for 2022 at this time. To be added to our 2022 wait-list, please email us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will notify you when our rates/cottages are available. The Registered Guest agrees to use and occupy the leased property at Guest’s own risk and hereby indemnifies Owner/Operator from any and all claims from any injury or death of any person or for the loss of or damages to any property of the Guest or Guest’s agents, visitor(s) or other third parties.
All of Sandbanks Summer Vacation Rental properties require a security guarantee in the form of a Credit Card authorization (Visa, Master Card or AMEX) which this signed document ensures. This security guarantee is maintained as insurance and provides management and/or the property owner the ability to recover any expenses incurred as a result of property damage, theft, additional cleaning required due to the cottage being left in an excessively dirty condition, or unpaid resort costs including but not limited to, long-distance calls, extra requested or required services, unauthorized or exceeding occupancy limits (6 persons p/cottage), and food and beverage credit charges. The undersigned understands that the credit card on file will be used to pay for any losses or damages caused by their use or misuse of the property. Your credit card will not be charged otherwise.
Check-In time is at 4:00 P.M.; keys are to be picked up at the check-in office. Check-Out time is at 10:00 A.M. We kindly requests that the cottage is left in a reasonably clean condition and any trash is removed upon departure.
The property is inspected before Registered Guest’s arrival and after Guest’s departure, and the card will only be charged if problems are noted. Should property damage occur during a Guest’s stay, it must be reported immediately in writing, to Sandbanks Summer Vacation Rentals.
Registered Guests understand that these properties are individually owned, and equipped according to the tastes and preferences of the owner. No guarantees can be made to the guest about expectations of quality of furnishings. Our staff will make every reasonable effort to have any malfunctioning appliances (air conditioners, dishwashers, televisions, etc.) repaired during the stay, but no refunds for inoperative appliances will be offered or expected.
The primary contact (Registered Guest) on the reservation must be present throughout the duration of the rental period. When reserving more than one cottage, this contact must be updated appropriately.
Failure to comply with any of the above policies may result in immediate eviction and loss of reservation deposit and all advance payments.
Final balance payment is due 30 days prior to arrival and will be automatically charged to the credit card on file unless otherwise arranged.
While we do not expect any changes to your reservation, a similar cottage of equal standard will be provided should the original cottage booked not be available for reasons beyond our control.
Payment constitutes your agreement to the terms of this rental agreement.
