What is Victoria Day Weekend?
Victoria Day Weekend is the celebration of Queen Victoria’s birthday as well as the unofficial beginning of the cottage season. What better way to celebrate than to spend it in one of the cottages listed in our Sandbanks holiday rentals? Discover the various festivals held in the county as well as the Victoria Day Century Ride where locals and visitors embark on a 100km bicycle race. There is no shortage of exciting things to do in Prince Edward County on Victoria Day Weekend.
Events You Won’t Want to Miss
Though the actual birthday of Queen Victoria is on May 24th, Canada celebrates during the entire weekend before the observed birthday holiday. Over that weekend, you can find all sorts of events happening across Prince Edward County. A spring antique show takes place all weekend long at Crystal Palace in Picton, the Waupoos Winery Scavenger Hunt and Winemakers Dinner takes place throughout the weekend in Waupoos, and the Victoria Day Century Ride annually takes to the paths on the Saturday of Victoria Day Weekend. There are also “You Pick” Farmer’s Markets and a Loyalist Encampment that you can experience during your stay in our Sandbanks holiday rentals.
A Holiday Stay for Everyone
With many of our cottages having an occupancy of 4 to 6 guests, the whole family can comfortably stay at Sandbanks Summer Village Cottages. Explore the area with your kids by embarking on hikes, splashing in the pool, or discovering all of the exciting local businesses and attractions. This Victoria Day Weekend, create new traditions and make lifelong memories with your loved ones at our Sandbanks holiday rentals!
